The files that you will need are:Ĭopy these files to either the main Rebirth folder (i.e. The default location of the game files from GOG.com are C:\GOG Games\Descent.

To install D1X-Rebirth, unzip the release into a folder (i.e. Copy descent.hog and descent.pig game files from the Descent CD or the installation folder or the downloaded zip file to D1X-Rebirth folder, in this example c:\games\D1X-Rebirth Read the README-D1X.txt file from the D1X-Rebirth zip file for additional information about addons, multiplayer, etc. If you once bought the game(s) from GOG or Steam, you can use these files/installers as well. If you already have the originals you can get the files from your CDs or from the installation directories. Since DXX-Rebirth is a source port of the original Descent engine, you need to have the original game files to play it.
